She is a visionary entrepreneur, community leader, and retired U.S. Army Veteran whose life’s work is rooted in purpose, service, and professional transformation. With over 17 years of experience in Human Resources, project management, and workforce development, she has dedicated her career to helping others unlock their full potential and walk boldly in their purpose.

As the Founder and CEO of The Resume Chop Shop, Akea guides countless professionals toward career success through strategic resume reconstruction, interview preparation, and specialized leadership coaching. Her signature programs, Interview Me Now and The Kareer Kickback (known for its "Career, Coffee & Culture" conversations), empower individuals to navigate their professional journeys with confidence and authenticity.

Akea's commitment extends to community advocacy. Effective December 1st, 2025, she will join the Board of Directors for the Arlington Elite Youth Sports and Developmental Program, where she will lead a mentorship program to help high school students and their parents make informed degree and career choices using Department of Labor data.

Currently pursuing her Doctorate in Health Sciences at Liberty University, Akea’s research focuses on telehealth and mental health literacy among veterans, bridging her professional expertise with a commitment to equitable access to care. Grounded in service and inspired by legacy, Akea is a proud mother, mentor, and motivator who defines success by the lives she impacts along the way.
